ReviewsC. S. Lewis understood, like few in the past century, just how deeply faith is both imaginative and rational., As we witness Lewis develop we find that these volumes are working as a kind of unconscious autobiography., It is not surprising that Lewis's time-proven views are still flourishing while most other mid-20th-century works are nearly neglected.

Synopsis"C.S. Lewis is the ideal persuader for the half-convinced, for the good man who would like to be a Christian but finds his intellect getting in the way." -- Anthony Burgess, New York Times Book Review Our moral consciousness and moral judgements are proof to the human race that a moral being exists--God. Mere Christianity explores the core beliefs of Christianity by providing an unequaled opportunity for believers and nonbelievers alike to hear a powerful, rational case for the Christian faith. A brilliant collection, Mere Christianity remains strikingly fresh for the modern reader and at the same time confirms C. S. Lewis's reputation as one of the leading writer and thinkers of our age. The book brings together Lewis' legendary broadcast talks during World War II. Lewis discusses that everyone is curious about: right and wrong, human nature, morality, marriage, sins, forgiveness, faith, hope, generosity, and kindness., In the classic Mere Christianity , C.S. Lewis, the most important writer of the 20th century, explores the common ground upon which all of those of Christian faith stand together. Bringing together Lewis legendary broadcast talks during World War Two from his three previous books The Case for Christianity , Christian Behavior , and Beyond Personality , Mere Christianity provides an unequaled opportunity for believers and nonbelievers alike to hear this powerful apologetic for the Christian faith. • C.S. Lewis, Nuff Said

Clive Lewis is an amazing layman Christian. If you are already a Christian you will find insight and understanding for living the life and walking the walk. If you are a seeker and not yet surrendered you will find encouragement for your journey. In this book he presents the argument for the golden rule of doing unto others as you would have them do unto you. It is not "In your face, repent or suffer." He presents the Christian walk with common sense and day to day living. I love this guy.

  • God's plan makes sense, and supports our founding principals as a nation

Mere Christianity by CS Lewis is a layman's series of discussions on why Christianity makes sense and how good and evil actually work under God's plan for mankind. To really understand it is a great read. Worth your time with a series of thought producing strong logic and common sense (not s common these days) from a good man to help others.

  • C S Lewis Carries You Into Rarefied Intellectual Thought!

C S Lewis is a prolific writer with wit, charm, and an ability to make the content come alive. While being versatile in style, he is a very competent writer moving seamlessly from topic to topic. Even if someone differs with his opinions, they have to admire his academia in presenting his narrative.

  • Mere Christianity

Absolutely fantastic read. CS Lewis did a phenomenal job writing about the uniqueness of the Christian faith. Unlike any other Christian book I have ever read. This was written a good time ago but still holds absolutely true to today and is completely compelling. I would absolutely and highly recommend this book to all Christians and those who are not.

  • Lost Knowledge

I had heard that C S Lewis had been on the radio in WWII but as I was born in 1944 I had no recollection of his talks. Now I find I had missed a well reasoned discussion on Christianity, one that fits current times just as it did in WWII.

  • Atheist turned Christian explains Christianity accurately

C.S. Lewis is one of the best Christian writers exactly because he was an Atheist. Great observations of how people behave and how it takes more faith to believe that the current state of the entire world happened by accident than it does to believe that there is an intelligent Creator.

  • Wonderful book for both beginning and mature Christians

Nobody explains Christianity in such simple terms. Great book for beginning Christians. Plenty of food for thought. I read it three times to get the full import of the book.
