Good for a tinker
First of all I'm not a machinist. I like to tinker around and have used it a couple times. Dont know all the technical terms but when you want to fine tune and take a couple thousands off (up and down adjustment) I have found there is play in the gear rack. I would fine adjust and it would cut nothing because it was being pushed up from the play. So I add a couple more thousands and same thing. Then I add more and it would be too mush to cut and bind up stopping the machine. I learned to adjust with downward pressure at the same time. If your expecting a machinist quality mill machine this is not for you. I only make parts that dont need to be percise and have learned the querks of the machine.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

factory defect
The motor is defective. gears are made out of plastic. way over priced. There is a small fan inside the motor to keep it cool. However, the fan and fan blades are made from cheap thin plastic, and come apart inside the motor while you are using the machine, and freeze up the motor. These motors run a little warm, destroying the fan blades. This is a factory defect that needs to be addressed ASAP. WEN, shipped me another motor, and so far it's been working, but only time will tell. This machine is good for very light work, and that's it. You need to shut it down and let it cool before proceeding with your work. Way over priced. Sending it back is next to impossible for me, since it weighs 135 lbs, and i just had open heart surgery late last year.Im very disappointed in my purchase. Included are pictures of the fan blade and motor from this machine.
