NotesAs recalled by David Rensin in Rolling Stone, the day Minnie Ripperton met Stevie Wonder and he realised who she was, he began jumping around "Oh my God! Is this a dream? I must be in Heaven. You're an angel. Your music is fantastic. I've gone through three of your 'Come To My Garden' albums, where can I get another?". Featuring some great musicians (Ramsey Lewis, Phil Upchurch, Cleveland Eaton among others) Minnie's 'Come to My Garden' is a long-lost gem, now considered a masterpiece by music critics and many others in the music industry.
Best of all Minnie Ripperton's albums. In my Humble opinion.
If you appreciate good music, and an amazing voice, then there's little chance of you not liking this album. But if you're already searching for Minnie Ripperton, then you know who she was and her amazing talent.
I searched for this LP for a long time, but the original is rare, and I was so happy to see it re-issued, and on clear green vinyl, no less. The record itself, is as gorgeous as the music. 'Come to my Garden' is one of the most finely produced albums of the early 70s. If you enjoy Minnie's music, this is a must have.
I really hope that they're bringing the albums, the 45's and the 78's back.
My brother God Rest his Soul use to have that album. It bring back so many memories in the 70's. That's the music that you can understand and not that rap music that they be listening too.
