Good value, must have for a home DYI.
Luckily is not something that I need to use often, but today an AC tech charges you an arm an a leg to come and check. The 2 most common issues are failed capacitors and a small gas leak. A capacitor is ~15 dollars, so make yourself a favor and buy one, or 2 and have them handy. 1000s of YouTube videos show how to easily and safely do the job. Same applies for checking/charging the gas. YouTube or a friend that has done before are necessary. This Manifold gauge and a bottle of the right gas (check you outdoor unit label to see which gas you need) and for the money of a "diagnostic visit" you are set for a few visits :) The gauges work fine, compared with my friend's professional set and it was the same readings. It comes with all the fittings, hoses and adaptors you need for a home ac. Can't stress it enough: Make sure you see a few videos and understand what you are about to do, or have a friend that can give you a hand the first time. Is not rocket science, but you probably don't need as much gas as you think. Just a few seconds of VERY careful charging. Overcharging can damage your equipment. Only Critic: On the manifold itself, it should have some blind connectors to attach the hose to while not in use, as this prevents to drag the hoses, get dirt on them and/or accidentally damage the connectors.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
