As a retired cardiology practice administrator, I find this instrument to be an excellent, portable, easy to use device. It is accurate and fast. I checked this one against my stethoscope and sphygmomanometer and it was right on! I know some medical practitioners who use only this type of wrist cuff to record patients’ blood pressures for routine visits. Doctor told me to get a more accurate monitor
So I bought this wanting something accurate and reliable to take my blood pressure with, but I took it to my doctor yesterday and I was using it properly, but the readings on it were still way lower than what the nurse got using a stethoscope and proper cuff. This unit has only given me one error in the entire time I've used it, comfortable and easy to use, just not as accurate as I need it to be. I had other monitors, that were very negative -------- the monitor, turned off automatically, and a calendar date, remained "blinking," "Draining the Battery. My only method, to save the battery life, I had to Remove the batteries, every time, I was finished, with my blood pressure, procedure, What a "Pain," if was! I USE THIS A LOT TO KEEP TRACK OF MY BLOOD PRESSURE. I HAVE RECOMMENEDED THIS TO OTHER PEOPLE WHO ARE FIGHTING THE CUFF TYPE. Takes Some Practice
This device has to be placed on the inside of your wrist to work properly. Even then, sometimes you have to jockey it around a bit to get a closer reading to a standard blood pressure measuring device. But, all in all it is consistently within 10 percent of conventional readings. Works good enough to travel with and fits inside of luggage very conveniently.
