Nice little butter dish1
Not really much to say, its a nice little butter dish and it has held up well. We have washed it in the dishwasher probably 50 times, and it still looks brand new. Good quality, but would not recommend it.
I like that it is stainless steel, BUT I do not like that everytime I touch it I leave fingerprints... Would be fantastic if it were the finish that doesn't show them. Also, I wish the lid would grip deeper into base because it does tend to slide off easily.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

HIdes the butter from the cat!
I keep my butter out on the counter, so it's always spreadable. It gets used up pretty fast. I have also a clear glass double butter dish, and my exceedingly snoopy cat can see the butter in there and has a war with the dish till she gets the lid off--or it ends up on the floor. Somehow, it remains intact, but is a mess to clean. The glass one does not have the best feature of this stainless one--the top handle. I have 3 of these--one for butter, one for cream cheese, which stays in the fridge, and a third to use while the 'spare' one for butter or cream cheese is being washed in the dishwasher. The cat doesn't even try to get at the butter in the stainless one---out of sight/out of mind, I guess. Anyway--I love 'em! Recommend to all!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

I bought a glass butter dish without any form of lifting the top from the bottom. It was always a mess. This one is a nice size, will even fit two quarters of butter at the same time. It has a handle which keeps the butter from being mashed while opening or closing. A bit lightweight, however it comes out of the dishwasher without a spot. Better than expected!
Yes, it does retain fingerprints, but you can easily wipe them off with a dry cloth, and the stainless steel can be used with pretty much any everyday dish set you may own. The stainless retains the cold from the fridge, so you can leave the butter dish on the table for a rather long time without worrying about the butter going rancid. While not the heaviest weight stainless, it is reasonably heavy and not likely to dent unless you manage to run into a brick wall with it or something equally out of the ordinary, and the price is certainly reasonable. Stainless Steel keeps the butter colder longer
Decided to buy this stainless steel butter dish due to the reviews. I was going to purchase a class dish but, realized the drop and breaking possibilities on my tile floors. It's rather light weight but, I'm overall pleased with the purchase. Stainless steel butter dishes aren't normally available in stores most are plastic.
