What a tribute to the real KING OF LATE NIGHT
I've lived in Sacramento, California all of my life. I grew up watching Bob on Saturday nights. His shows were either taped or went out live right from the channel 40 studios on Fruitridge rd. I remember when he showed the first trailers for a new movie called "STAR WARS." Ahh Saturday nights,, rotary antenna on the roof and a 27 inch color tv ( which didn't matter because so many of the movies were in black and white) and I was my dads remote control. Thanks for the memories Bob. I hope your still smoking the giant cigars and sitting in your chair. Thanks dad for letting me stay up with you. And a special thanks to November fire for putting this DVD available Thank you all. I just wish I had an old tube type T.V. that had to warm up to watch this DVD. MY THOUGHTS ON THE BOB WILKINS DVD
I GREW UP WATCHING CREATURE FEATURES AS A KID. I REALLY ENJOYED WATCHING ALL THE B-MOVIES. I ALSO ENJOYED BOB WILKIN'S COOL DEMEANOR, AS HE SMOKED HIS CIGAR. HE ALWAYS REMINDED ME OF THE ACTOR FROM THE NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD THAT SAID, " THEY ARE COMING TO GET YOU BARBARA " LOL. OK SO NOW TO MY THOUGHTS ON THE DVD. FIRST THE GOOD. THE VIDEO HAS GREAT INTERVIEWS. SO MANY GREAT TV ICONS IN THE INTERVIEWS. MANY NO LONGER WITH US. IT WAS A TREAT TO WATCH. NOW THE NOT SO GOOD STUFF. I WAS A LITTLE DISAPPOINTED IT DIDN'T HAVE AT LEAST ONE FULL SHOW WITH BOB WILKINS. I PERSONALLY WOULD HAVE LIKED A FULL SHOW FEATURING ANYONE OF THESE CLASSIC MOVIES SUCH AS THE CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON, GODZILLA VS GAMERA , ABBOT AND COSTELLO MEET FRANKENSTEIN , ULTRAMAN , ETC. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A NICE CLIMATIC ENDING AFTER WATCHING ALL THE GREAT INTERVIEWS. ALL IN ALL I WAS STILL HAPPY WITH THE INTERVIEWS. AND THE SELLER WAS GREAT. I SAY THIS BECAUSE THERE WAS A MISTAKE IN MY ORDER. THE SELLER WAS FRIENDLY AND FIXED THE ISSUE SO FAST I WAS BLOWN AWAY ON HOW QUICK HE FIXED IT. SO IF YOU ARE LOOKING FRO GREAT INTERVIEWS WITH BOB WILKINS AND ICONIC STARS THIS DVD IS FOR YOU. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR FULL EPISODES OF BOB WILKINS SHOWS, THIS DVD ISN'T FOR YOU. I didn't watch Creature Features so much for the movies shown but to watch Bob. I enjoyed his quick wit, many interviews, and promotions. As the DVD plays, showing interviews and movie trailers side by side with Horror movie posters that change up every few seconds, there is a scroll at the bottom of the screen listing chronologically all the Creature Features that aired by date, day of the week, and TV station.
