Item took extra long to ship. It is a fragile item, being made of bakelite, which is a brittle plastic. Was simply thrown in a plastic shipping bag with no padding or protection of any kind. Both items, I ordered 2, were broke. Pieces of bakelite were broken off where the bulb screws in leaving portions of the aluminum socket exposed. They are still usable, but a shock hazzard. I repaired with electric tape. as I didn't want to go through the hassle and expense of sending them back and waiting another 2 weeks for replacements. Shipping them in a padded mailer or wrapping with bubble wrap would have prevented damage. The items themselves seem to be of good quality if intact.
I bought this two socket lamp fixture to convert a kitchen ceiling light from circular fluorescent to regular type bulbs. The circular fluorescent replacement was available from Home Depot where I bought the ceiling light.I was able to buy smaller curly gas bulbs so the bowl shaped diffuser wouldn't touch. And the new bulbs make 100 watts of light using 23 watts.
