Great quality and value in a sword/machete hybrid.
Someday, I might want a real cutlass. In the meantime, Cold Steel's Cutlass Machete offers a lot of bang for the buck! A little sturdier and thicker than most machetes, but shaped like a Cutlass sword... this is a cutlass that you can play with to your heart's content! Light, nimble, and pretty sharp right out of the package. For the price point and steel quality, you can't beat it! A side benefit that others haven't mentioned is the sheath. It is shaped more like a traditional machete sheath, so you could carry it around or take it with you camping and no one would know that it really conceals a "poor man's sword" inside. But, if they had shaped the sheath like a sword scabbard, it might raise some eyebrows and unnecessary concerns. So, it shouldn't draw any extra attention from any hysterical "Karens". Plus, the sheath feels like it is lined with a thin inner plastic liner (or guide) to keep prevent wear and aid blade insertion, so it is better than most nylon sheaths at this price point!

Nice Saber/machete, BUT. Kinda long for yardwork.
Pros-- It has a sturdy hand-guard. Cons-- My title sez most of it. It is longer than I thought. So, not really good for clearing a path, or chopping bushes. But it is cool for Zombie slicing. Unfortunately, 24inch is long for a Cutlass. Cutlasses were shorter for swinging on a crowded ship deck. Still.... It is a Cold Steel Machete. The blade is pretty thick. Take a while to get used to the length.

Great edged sidearm.
An inexpensive, modern take on the U.S. M1917 Naval Cutlass. Wrap the hilt in leather or parachute cord, a couple of passes with your favorite sharpener, and it's just about perfect.
