  • Certainly good for the price.

I watched a lot of online reviews on these snares, a lot of the problems I saw online seem to have been remedied, as I didn’t have them. Bearing edges are ok, quality of the wood is fine, though I’d like a few more plies to be honest, but the price negates that. Replaced the batter head, and tuned the drum, and it sounds great, my only real complaint is the snare throw off, which doesn’t like to function under higher pressures. For the price this snare can’t be beat, it has a good sound, and I’m liking it a lot. Durability will be determined after a few shows, but I feel like I got a good deal. Thanks!

  • Ok shell for the price

The poplar shell looks solid, and has snare beds, though it’s not sanded well. The wrap looks cool. The hoops and lugs seem ok. On the other hand the strainer is very stiff and not easy to use and the snare wires are the lowest quality I’ve ever seen. Very poorly made and they rattle like crazy because they’re not flat or tensioned the same across the set. Makes it impossible to get a right snappy sound. I think with a new set of quality wires this might sound good, but I’ll have to buy some and find out.

  • Honest straight up, not holds

it is a good snare over all, the wood plys are standard , the lugs are good, hoops are also good. only downfall is the snare wires and the straps, would of liked to have seen cords or plastic strap. overall it is a good snare to add to ones drum kit. The depth is a Plus, giving that Tight but yet deep sound to it,its not a Piccolo snare by anyways .. but yet sounds like one, but brighter tone and snapper sound, I was almost going to pass it up before taken a chance, the Value is great for a wood shell snare drum. But the only Con i found is the snare wires and the mounting of the strainer, it is a bit high mounted, but does what it needs to to.. The snare wires would of been a better fit with Copper wires, but steel wires are good. The cloth strap is something to be changed out, as i had talked about before would of been nice to see a plastic strap or cord strap, the coth strap is small and has to much lack in the placement of the snare wires, has to be adjusted to make center, a little more in the alinement of the snare wires .. But over all for the price and being a wood shell snare, it is worth the price, they also include a drum key and that is a plus , always need a extra key at some point ..

  • Griffin Soprano (Popcorn) Snare Drum

Decently made soprano (popcorn) snare drum. With a little tweaking of the heads and snares it'll deliver a great high pitched sound just as good as any higher end expensive one.

  • Small but loud, i tuned mine low and has this nice flat but focused sound

  • Well worth it!

For the price you can't beat it. I made adjustments to the tuning but, other than that started playing it straight out of the box. I'm just using it as a practice snare for now but, wouldn't hesitate to use it on stage. I plan on making some upgrades in the future which, I'm sure can only make it sound better. If your a beginner or on a tight budget, you can't go wrong with this snare. It's pretty well made and sturdy for the money.

A couple of minor adjustments brought this snare to life. Definitely recommend
