spider flange for a Samsung front load washer
Samsung has made a very nice washer, with one part in it that does not meet the standards that a thousand dollar machine needs to meet. There are lots of nooks and crannies on this flange for excess soap to adhere and that causes the pot metal casting to corrode and eventually fail. This part is made to the same standards, so it fits perfectly in its place and makes the machine run like new. However, I have no doubt that I will be replacing it again in 4-6 years. If there was a way to powder coat or epoxy the casting so that something was keeping the soap from adhering to the metal (that wouldn't leach color into the wash), maybe we could hope a longer life, and I would pay more for such a part. To be clear, this replacement part was perfectly made to Samsung standards, but Samsung did not design the part as well as expected from its reputation.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Perfect Fit - Feels Sturdy - hopefully won't disintegrate like OEM part
Whatever Samsung used as the original part turned to into a brittle mess of powdered laundry detergent, chunks of what should have been metal and sandy crud. Hopefully this one won't turn to mush! Best price I could find anywhere! Exact fit and quality of the original. Ingenious correction to years old problem.
An inherent issue with front load washers is corrosion and breakage of the spider arm assembly. Made from a lesser metal than the stainless steel tube it connects to, it is degraded by the far more superior metal.
