Favorite black ink!
I love this ink. I have been collecting fountain pens for a while and I have to say this is amongst one of the cheapest inks but also has very good value. Easy to clean out, and even for a black ink, there is some shading (always good). Color is dark and nice. It feathers and bleeds bit on cheap paper, but that's no problem. Quick delivery, good price. Love this.

Great ink for fountain pens
Being a retro kind of guy, who still shaves with a straight razor, carries a pocket watch, uses a flip phone and still writes with a fountain pen, it is refreshing to find a product that is still a good as it has been for decades. Pelikan is a name brand that I have used in one form or another for over 50 years. Their "4001" ink is superb- it keeps the pens clean and free flowing, dries to a brilliant color no matter which hue you choose, and is reasonably priced.
