Great carb for a Ford 302
Bolted it on and made some choke adjustments and that was it - runs great right out of the box. Didn't have to touch mixture screws or anything, and looks brand new, and about $150 cheaper than a new one, overall a great value

Good carb BUT
This was a refurbished carb. I didn't expect perfection. I did expect it to be put together correctly. I put it on the truck and had an awful hesitation. I double checked all my vacuum lines. I checked the timing again. But the Lord was on my side. I happen to have another one in the garage. I checked it out side by side and found out the refurbished carb came with the accelerator pump upside down. It wasn't doing anything. I thought something was wrong with my pump cam, and then the adjustment. Then I looked at it and it wasn't doing anything. It wasn't moving. The rod was pushing against it, but it wasn't moving. The short of it is; the carb tech hadn't put it together correctly nor did QA test it correctly. Something like that would have been easily found.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Great performance looks fantastic
This carb replaced the governor carb on my Chevy ,c70 dump truck 366 tall block.. simple plug and play install. Great power from low RPM in any gear. Simple idle mixture adjustment and it was running perfect. Improved fuel milage significantly. I am getting over 11 mpg in a dump truck. Don't make the mistake of putting too much carb on your motor. This carb works great for small block and big block street applications. Holley carb calculator will tell you what size you need. Great deal on a carb
I screwed around with an older Edelbrock carb for the whole classic car driving g season up north. Never got it running right and always had issues. Put this on, out of the box with no adjusting the car ran the best it ever has. I'll buy another one for the next car. It's not a beat up used POS some "rebuilder" spray painted and sold. Some problems at first but seems to be a great performer!
Had a few problems with it at first. The primary float was too high. The left primary barrel air-screws adjustment was squirrelly. I ran it and the floats started sticking. That problem seemed to clear itself. I drove it for about a week and was not real happy with the performance but I wanted to give it a real test. All of a sudden the left primary wasn’t getting fuel to the engine and it was idling and bucking but seemed ok above idle. I nursed the truck home and disassembled the carb. There were some metal shavings inside the primary bowl and they worked their way into the idle well. I back blew all the orifices in the metering block and main body. I put the carb back on and now the bleed screws adjust properly on both barrels. The performance seems to be great now but haven’t been able to test it yet under towing conditions.

The Holley Carb 80457SA was a perfect fit on My Bronco with a 400M It looked like it had Not even been bolted on. It ran right out of the box. It was adjusted at the factory, so it only needed a little a adjusting The electric choke adjusted up with just a couple of tries. this holly isnt any good
