Great sound but high tech for a low tech guy.
I am low tech. I hoped these speakers synced like the sub woofer. But NO. You have to use the internet down load 4 programs (2 for these speakers and 2 for my sound bar) and all the updates. Well designed great features
Compatible only with Windows PC if you want to use the Play-Fi feature Offered for free if you complete the full registration. Also, the Omni S2's cannot be paired with other Wi-Fi Polkaudio units unless you purchase the Polkaudio P1 unit, a Very expensive unit, over $400. I wanted to incorporate the Omni S speakers with my Polkaudio RTA-7 and MagniFi one powerbar and I cannot, unless I buy the expensive P1 unit. Huge savings with the factory refurbished and still has 2yr Warranty. Set up was straight forward and simple. Great sound! My only criticism is that while the app lets you stream from Amazon music, I can't get it to let me play from my Playlist. Outstanding Speakers!
I bought these speakers because I wanted a whole-house wifi system, and I didn't want to be locked down to bluetooth. I absolutely LOVE the way they sound! They aren't meant to be a "booming" speaker that gets extremely loud, but overall, they provide a great sound quality. I will note however, that the instructions for setup are VERY wrong. The easiest way to set these up is to hold the setup button until you hear TWO sets of two tones, not one like the instructions say. If you hold it for the TWO sets of tones, setup is very easy. Another thing to note is that it is best to put these on their own 2.4ghz or 5ghz band. The audio can be sensitive to wireless load, and if you have a lot of speakers ( I run 6 at the same time occasionally) you may experience them cutting out. Great wireless system
I am very pleased with how this system works (you need the Polk app to make it all work). So far I have two speakers (the other is the S6) and the sound is fantastic, especially if you use the 24bit sound option. My only disappointment is you can't use the highest quality sound when streaming through multiple speakers. I assume that will happen someday. Love these units- really crisp sound.
I have multiple units around our house and needed another for the bathroom. Love the connectivity, and ease of operation. Yes, the units sometimes time out and need to be reset or the group I have chosen doesn't all connect at once, but overall the tech guys are good and help me out when I call. Totally surprised by the quality
I bought two of the Polk S2s to supplement two Definitive Technology W7s I purchased previously. The S2s are less impressive on paper and I didn't expect much considering that two of the S2s cost less than one W7. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that they sound great. If I had it to do all over again, I would have bought 4-6 of these speakers instead of the more expensive W7s. two more of a great product!
I already had the S2R (rechargeable) and decided to get two more of the fixed mount speakers for sound in other rooms. One of them had a bad rattle in the driver but Polk immediately sent a new one to replace it. Getting communication set up with these speakers requires some patience, but once done, they sound great!
