This folding shovel is the genuine article Made in the USA. Strong and robust in every way. There is nothing that will wear out or break. It has some weight to it for sure but if it's going to hold up to use and abuse it has to have some thickness to the blade and handle. I had another brand-sog that is not in the same league with this fine tool. The other brand is fine if you don't need to do much digging.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
