Great little press
Debated between this and the Harbor Freight version. Picked this cause I/2” hole drilled in ram and came with inserts. Also has a hand wheel the other brands don’t.

Palmgren isn't what it used to be
I purchased this based on past experience with Palmgren drill-press vises. I was disappointed. Operation is "rough" due to the gear teeth, the adjustment screws dig into the arbor. To address the adjustment screws issue I fabricated and installed two wear-pads which improved things. But in retrospect I wish I'd purchased a Jet arbor press instead, the cost differential isn't much.

Good for the price
Heavy solid press as it should be. The cast is what one would expect, not of a smooth well finished quality, but that is fine. One minor issue is how close the press bar is to the body. It tends to infringe on the arms motion downward. Nothing that cannot be dealt with but not as I would have preferred it.

The perfect little 1 ton arbor press...
This is a great arbor press! Does everything I need for my leather business and more. Saves me a lot of time at the shop... which ups my profits for my business... I wish I had bought this machine several years ago, but I'm very glad I own it now... and it fits on top of my work desk in the shop... perfect!
