Fits in mugs, teapots, thermal cups or thermos. Prongs to hold it above the water. Small raised tab for removing from container,stops your fingers from being burned. Bottom is a simple slide and twist to remove for cleaning. Have ordered a second one. Love this brand. Have their stainless teapot and coffee press. Beautiful quality.
