    Works!!!

Solar panel works to keep pickup battery trickle charged won't overcharge battery because it shuts off at night and on really cloudy days. But even fairly cloudy days it charges!! Up to 21 volts open circuit comes down to 12-14 when charging battery the picture is on a pretty cloudy day when it was snowing

  • Top critical review

Great for small batteries that don't get used much.

This solar panel worked just fine. The major problem is that it is so small the current output is so tiny that it will take forever to charge a battery. I purchased this to actually charge a battery rather than maintain its voltage. This battery powers a gate opener that gets used several times a day. I live in Southern New Mexico so there is no shortage of sunshine. I simply needed a larger panel that could provide more amperage thus more power to actually charge a battery and not just maintain its voltage. I will use this small solar panel to keep several smaller batteries charged. Batteries for my camera, my phone and my drone all need a constant charge or the LED lights will over time drain the batteries.

  • Great value panel for a battery maintainer!

Got this to be the battery maintainer for my little RV when not using. I had already mounted a controller in a waterproof junction box and solar port right next to the battery, and I am using the Jack-It bike mount to hold the panel. I did have to use an SAE connector gender changer as my main solar set up is made by Zamp, and their connectors are reverse polarity compared to this panel and most of the solar market. Seems to be a good quality panel. I haven't used the connector cables that also came with the set, but they seem fine. Wire is a bit thin, but at the low trickle amperage the panel supplies it shouldn't matter. Just don't use them as a connector with a high output panel. I'm interested to see how long the elastic strap and frame last out in the weather. I seem to remember reading somewhere in the literature that came with the product that it was made to be weather resistant. Even if the elastic breaks down in the weather, I'll just rig up another way to hold it. So far so good! I'll probably be buying a couple more to rig up for a couple of friend's boats!

  • Charged up for this charger

I am using it on my sailboat to keep the battery charged up. So far it has worked great. I like it a lot better than my old plug in charger. I don't have to leave an electrical line on the dock. There is also less of a chance of a malfunction that would cause a fire on my boat. The solar panel is small but it easily does the job of keeping my battery charged up.

  • Good So Far

I bought two of these. One for my lawn mower and the other for a car that sits a lot without being cranked. Order and delivery went without issue, I waited till now, about three months later , to judge the quality of the product. We have just been through very cold weather. Temps in the single digits at night. Today the car cranked. I usually have to jump it off after three months. So trickle charge is working. I do have two suggestions. One for you guys that are going to use it on a car battery. Get the 10 watt instead of the 5 watt I bought. I missed their 10 watt when looking at them. Second suggestion is for the manufacturer. Put larger alligator clips on the battery attachment. Ones with the kit are barely adequate.

  • Good panel, great price.

I use the solar panel to keep a small 12 volt battery topped off for some communication equipment that I built. It does a great job, is compact, and well made. I have not had a problem of being without power since I installed this panel.

  • Solar Trickle Charger

Pretty nice kit, especially for the price! It's hard to beat the buy. Nice quality product doesn't look like its cheaply made. Like I said for the price you just cant beat it.

  • Easy Breasy

Hook up was seamless and easy. Because my cigarette lighter is not always connected or hot then I had to hook up the panel direct to the battery and by propping up the panel between the windshield wiper and running the wires under the hood I was able to close the hood and let it charge all day. When I'm done I open the hood and store the panel in the engine compartment until next week. This car is not driven very much at all so this keeps me from having to start the car every week and just charge the battery instead.
