I first read this book when I was a volunteer at a crisis line in upstate New York back in the '70s. The opinions expressed and issues debated in it are the same as they are now. We need to do everything we can to make sure that women, LBGTQ and all minorities are not second-class citizens. This is America, where anyone, regardless of their age, gender, heritage, color or sexual orientation has a right to be free and happy in a true democracy.
This book is as relevant today as it was 50 years ago.
