  • Added to stock 1997 50,000 mile Toyota Avalon, with 4" speakers in the doors, and OE radio.

I ran across a old lady owned Toyota I couldn't turn down, had all blown speakers, I added this to the stock tape player radio, replaced the stock 4" speakers with Kicker in front and rear doors, placed unit under the passenger seat, and it supplemented the sound quite well. Spliced into the front door speakers, tapped a fuse, hooked up the ground wire, and that is it. Works pretty good and best of all takes no trunk space or added excessive weight. I'm ordering one more for my Avalanche that has an Alpine DVD system with TV screens, amp and sub set up in it now. The whole unit is the size of my amp alone. I hope it lasts a long time.

  • Easy solution for better sound

Installed this in my 2012 F-150. The stock speakers had no bass and this really rounded out the sound. Sounds great and added an impressive amount of bass for its size. Fit perfectly underneath the front passenger seat.

  • Updated Review!! Added active LOC and now this thing blows me away!!

I needed to come back and update my review. I was not impressed with the Hideaway on initial purchase. But since my original review I have done a lot of research and also bought a new car. I took the Hideaway out of my Hyundai when I traded it in for a Jeep Grand Cherokee. I had bought an Audio Control LC2i active line out converter (LOC) to see if I could get any improvement out of the Hideaway. First off, I think I had a short in one of my audio cables running to Hideaway. I tripple checked connections this time and added the LOC. I installed the Hideaway under my front driver seat. Well? Oh my god! Wow! Holy smokes. I am beside myself with the difference. I feel like I went from 0 to 1000 with the difference. I'm almost speechless with how well this now sounds. And boy, with the unit under the driver's seat I can not only hear pretty dang decent low end, but I can FEEL it too. My entire body is reverberating from the bass. It seems to "mostly" be isolated to chest thumping in my seat, the rear view mirror isn't vibrating but I've gone from "meh" to "hell ya!". If you get a Hideaway, get an LC2i LOC. It's worth it. I'm a believer now Old Review: ----------------- I bought this item refurbished for approx. $150.00 (down from $220.00 new), my stock Stereo in my Hyundai Santa Fe Sport was lacking "a bit" in the low end department, and I wanted to add something that could be installed without having to modify my SUV, and hide away the speaker, but get the benefit of the added sound. This being my first aftermarket SUB install, I got pretty OCD about it - spent several hours hooking up large gauge wire (4 gauge to the battery and ground) - I bought a separate amp wire kit for this. I didn't want to splice into my existing stock unit, so I found an wiring harness for my stock radio that added RCA out. I was a little disappointed that I had to add in RCA jacks to the Kicker Hideaway - and the official Kicker brand ones that are mentioned in the instruction guide are not even sold anymore. Finally after hooking everything up, I was underwhelmed with the output - I turn all channels on this thing all the way to full, and it just fills in the sound a bit - certainly no vibrations, just a little added range. I went back through the wiring and also hooked my phone directly up to the inputs on this thing just to make sure my RCA/line out from my stereo wasn't causing a decrease in output - nope, it just doesn't do that much of a job. I could see if I had a small pick up truck enclosure with small door speakers and ZERO bass, how this could really help. But for me - well, I just wasn't that impressed for the money spent. I'll use it for a few months, then I'll probably re-sell it on craigslist and go for something with a little more oomph.

  • Great performance

The sound quality it adds to the audio system is incomparable. The harmony of sounds and the power of the bass is of a high level. Easy to install. Its size is perfect to save space. If you are considering adding a bass of great power and quality without sacrificing space, I recommend it. I installed it on a 2015 Jeep Wrangler, under the passenger seat. I really recommend this product for the advantages of its dimensions, easy installation and high sound quality.

  • Very nice.

1992 Volvo 240 GL I’ve been thinking about putting in a sub for a while now and wanted something very small to bring out some bass in the cab. For sure I did not want to use up any trunk space. So, I need something that would work within the cab. Mounting this on the floor behind the drivers seat was what I decided. came with everything to do so. Sounds pretty good and has a nice feel to it. It’s not a 10 or a 12 in a big box. Keep that I’m mind. Still I wanted something very small. Thinking ahead I installed an amp wiring kit. It was worth it because the kits wiring is not the best and does not come with RCA jacks. At this price point it should come with everything. Just to say I’ve read a lot of reviews on this little sub and came across some that say they blow the speaker and had to get it replaced. I’m pretty positive this is due to clipping the subs signal. There is even one guy saying he blows this thing up 3 times!I’m not going to go into the science of why signal clipping blows speakers just watch a video on speaker signal clipping on YouTube. You’ll learn something. Not only that you’ll then understand why distortion blows speakers. All in all a good choice and good sub.

  • Small package good sound

I installed this sub in my Ranger. Small cab, with very little space. The sub fit perfectly behind the seat. For a small 8" sub there is plenty of bass for my little truck. It rattles the rear view mirror! Install was very easy, just hookup to the rear speakers and pull a wire to the battery

  • Small sub big sound.

Purchased this sub to get a little low end in my 2010 F-150. Install was pretty strait forward as long as you know some general wiring skills. Took some dialing in but it does exactly what I wanted. Gives me a nice thump for kick drum hits and even handles 808 hits with surprisingly good low end for a small all in one package. Fits under my back seat and is out of the way. With all my other kicker speakers it really fills out the sound nice. Great product if you are just looking for a little thump.

  • Kicker compact

I originally purchased this product because it was the only subwoofer that would fit under my cars passenger seat so I could keep my car looking stock. However after installation, I am very pleased with the performance of this unit. It has plenty of power to make all my music enjoyable and yet it is not rattling the car next to me. It is of heavy duty construction and quality wiring. I highly recommend this unit to anyone that is unsure about it. One side note before you buy. This unit works best with the optional (kicker KSIL 2 channel RCA adapter wires). They only cost 10-12 dollars more and will increase the sound quality by a large margin.

  • Kicker 11HS8

Great little subwoofer. It doesn't add as much bass as say a regular 8" kicker in a box with an amp, but it's compact and fits right under my seat with enough bass to complete my sound system that was lacking. I bought it refurbished too and it sounds just as good as new. Just make sure you remember what you pay for, this adds a lot of bass but it's not something that you can blow your windows out with. Overall I'm glad I made this purchase.

  • Small but mighty!

Very impressive little subwoofer! The sound is amazing in a Tacoma crew cab pick up! Easy to fit behind the rear seat and easy to dial in the right amount of thump. I would definitely purchase one again!
