Holmes is not that good
This is the second Holmes fan that I’ve tried recently and they both weren’t impressive. It feels like a cheaply made fan. Very simple fan. I used to have a window fan that was similar and far superior to this fan. That fan you can turn the vent to deflect the direction of the wind flow. Also it was faster than these fans. This fan is good but it could be a lot better

Quiet and effective, but not actually reversible.
The fans work quietly, but don't seem to move much air. The "reversible" claim is a stretch. The fan I replaced with this one had a switch to change directions, which is what I think reversible means. Great for small windows
This is my fourth one from this company, the first one had all the fancy stuff but did not last very long. I use one of them for my workshop which stays on 2//7 and the other in my storage shed which has a small window and is on a timer. This is a good window fan for its price point. My daughter confiscated a larger, quieter, electrically reversible, and more powerful model, but this one is half the price of that one, and still cools the room, just takes a little longer. This fits perfectly in my tiny, little bathroom window but it could also - with the included attachments - work in a much larger window. It's so quiet you barely know it's on. What isn't really clearly explained in the listing is that there are TWO sets of controls. One on the front and another on the back, both identical. This is so you can flip it around for use as an exhaust fan (as I did in my bathroom for obvious reasons) or the other way as a way to bring fresh air into a space.
