There Are Practical Reasons For Using Fuse Pliers.
For years I pried out fuses with screw drivers & pliers. Reinstalling them by hand or driving them in with a wood block. Doing so would sometimes damage (or weaken) a good fuse and/or damage the label. When I started using the three sizes of Ideal Fuse Pliers I was surprised at how well they worked. Now that's the only way I do it and it's much easier on the fuse (and my hand). Fuses are expensive and damaging only one will buy the correct tool. IMPORTANT TIP: When you see the brass ends on a fuse turning dark and cracking - Replace It. The problem is poor contact with the fuse end causing resistance and repeated heat/cool cycle. You probably need to replace the fuse holder but if not practical always replace the fuse and note to check it again 6-12 months later.
