I really like the smooth tone and easy bending of these strings. They are the bullet end and withstand corrosion well too.
The tone is much more balanced than a standard set of .010 - .042 set. There's no heavy G using the .015. I used Elixers for years, which are great in a standard set. Jimi's tone secret
Researching the Hendrix tone and I found out about his preference in string gauges. Besides the Marshall amp, fuzz and all the pedals Jimi had a unique playing style. His thumb over method of chord voicings and flourishes bridged the gap between rhythm and lead work. I tried these heavy top light bottom strings out on a couple of my Strats and so far I really like them. Hoodoo the Voodoo?
If you want to get closer to Hendrix sound, these are surprisingly accurate, especially with fuzz, they just cut through. It takes a little while to get used to the action and a new set up will likely be in order, but it's well worth it!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
