"Great Sounding Subs"...pair with a crossover for a more elevated performance.!
Our band needed a new sub for a gig but the coffers were low. We already had a crown Micro-Tec amp so we took a chance on this Rockville Passive 18Sub to save a little money. Boy were we pleasantly surprised. The subs are a perfect match for our Mackie mains and because we use the XAir18 we send out a sub mix to the amp and it sounds amazing. Needless to say we purchased a second sub and the sound we have is perfect with the drum kit and bass guitar. Even when we play music between sets the subs sound smooth and clear not muddy at all. If you pair these with a decent amp and a crossover (the crossover is a must) I think you will be hard pressed to find a better sounding speaker at this price point.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Small with a mighty punch!
This sub is a bit on the small and light weight side. Thats not a bad thing for mobility, but heavier, denser wood, sounds better. It runs 4ohm which allows your amp to provide more power to it. The sound out of this is pretty big. When you factor in the price, the overall value of this thing is through the roof! The only reason I didnt give it 5 stars is because it doesnt sound as good as a high end sub, but for the price of one high end sub you can outfit your setup with 8 of these and 2 amps to power them.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Bass from the bottom of the dial....
These days rock, pursuing it with a 1000 what power amp, crossover and comp/limiter, eq and the cabinets fell off the wall and my dog threw up the bass was insane. Have a six string bass with synthetic pick up, crazyyyyyyy!!!!!! TomVerified purchase: YesCondition: New

Good value and right connections in back
It has an 18-in subwoofer but more importantly all of the right connections in the back, I haven't tried it out with my Crown amplifier yet but I'll be more than happy to update if able.

They punch but peak at about 250watts
