You get what you pay for.

As others describe the performance is nowhere near 150 Mbps. Going through a couple interior walls I get about 20 Mbps. A few feet from the router I get around 50 Mbps. This is decent for single board computer projects that don't need 5 GHz performance. For Armbian I had to build the driver for a rtl8188fu. The actual device is a "Realtek Semiconductor Corp. RTL8188FTV 802.11b/g/n 1T1R 2.4G WLAN Adapter"

  • Top critical review

Fine cheap adapter if you don't need blazing speeds and don't mind searching for some better drivers.

After some searching I found driver 1030.6.1201.2015 which solved all my reliability issues. Before that the adapter would disconnect randomly. For instance trying to download games from epic it would get a few hundred megs in and then disconnect. The only way to reconnect was to unplug and replug the adapter. With the driver I found I was able to download games with 10s of gigs of data without disconnects. Speed isn't great, and or range. Getting me half the download speed of higher quality adapters. However in my use case of connecting an older pc to the internet for browsing, youtube, and updates it is fine. If that is similar to your use case I recommend this product. Bottom line it's Ok. It's not great but it's not bad. Cons: You have to source some drivers. Very unreliable with default drivers. Speed isn't great. I have a 200mbs connection. I get 40 down with this. A much better adapter gets me 80 with the pc in the same location. Doesn't work with linux out of the box if that's what you need. Pros: Once drivers are sorted It's probably the cheapest way to connect a pc without out wifi to your wireless network.

  • Works great for Windows computers but

Not so great for Linux computers. Literally plug and play for Windows definitely discreet and a good value. I would buy again I'm just disappointed about the Linux not working with it. You have to make sure you can hook up wifi using Linux before you buy this. If your Linux is wifi capable you might have good luck. We didn't.

  • Slow, Low Quality Product

Very slow. I do not recommend buying it. I have 200mbs/second and this downloads at 7 mega bytes per second two feet away from the router.

  • Very slow speeds!!!!!!!

These get very slow speeds. I can run SpeedTest with two computers side by side. Same make model and everything. The one with this adapter gets 10-20mb download speed and the one with a name brand WiFi adapter gets 350mb download speed. I would not recommend these in any way.

  • great for the price

I have bought quite a few of these this year. I only had one break because it was in my pocket all day. everyone of these I have bought has worked very well and always auto detected in Windows 10 with no issues- 32 or 64 bit versions. I use these a lot and they make it so easy to work on multiple systems at one time without having to share a internet cable. I love them, especially for the price.....

  • Piece of garbage like I have never seen.

Link provided for drivers was wrong, had to request correct link, when it finally came it led to multiple downloads and was unclear as to which one was correct. Finally figured it by trial and failure, only to have the adaptor fail to remain connected to the wi-fi. Kept kicking it off and deleting the password from the system, had to re-connect it 5 times, then finally gave up when the following morning it wasn't even registering on my computer. Also the little icon appeared on my task bar when the adaptor wasn't even installed in a USB port, finally had to do a HARD uninstall of every driver that could remotely be connected to it AND restart the computer for it to go away, Close Window failed at least 30 times to close the icon, and it wouldn't boot from the desk top. Garbage from the word go.

  • Not perfect, but great for the price

Got it to get use out of my tablet since the internal chip died. It's small, very cheap, and works fast enough for every day stuff (was able to video stream in 1080p with no buffering) Only problem I had is that it tends to disconnect after a few hours (3-5) of continues use. Not really an issue, as you just have to reconnect and that takes 10 seconds, but definatly something to note. Overall, as long as you don't do anything that requires real time internet (IE, online gaming or video chatting, situations where a 10 second disconnection is more then a minor nuisance), I would recommend for most people who just need a quick and cheap solution

  • Not for hardcore pc builders

Well I just wanted to test out this product as it promise a 150mbs speed at the price of a small Starbucks coffee.jt good enough for a normal person reaching speed up to 35mb/s for YouTube and other content but when it come to creator work upload and downloading very large data takes weeks.

  • Good and Bad

Works fine overall. I purchased this because I have two other adapters that fail to complete downloading using YouTube Downloader HD on a regular basis. This fixes the problem. It's disconnects Sometimes and I have to unplg and replug it to get it going again.
