Great product, highly recommend it if you have less than 1,5 branches and straight branches.
The product arrived with missing pieces (three nuts, two washers and two stabilizers) and has a pretty big crack on it. However, because I desperately needed one, I given it a try: I bought the missing parts and used the product. Having dozens of trees on my backyard, due to powerful winds, I had a mess. It took me a while (and a lot of patience) to chip several piles of brunches. However, somebody said that the product didn't chip green branches. Well, I had a lot of pines and most of the branches were of pine but the product didn't make any difference: it chewed everything as it was dried. I do not recommend for green bushes or vine, though. Per ensemble, I give 3 stars because of the missing pieces and the big crack that was not in the description of the product. Otherwise I would give 5 stars. DO NOT BUY if you have anything more than small, straight, hard sticks to chip
If you only have .25" to 1.25" straight, hard sticks to chip, this works great! I live in Oregon, so I have lots of fir cones and sword fern fronds in my yard debris pile. This machine chops the cones in half (not very chipped) and often just passes the sword fern fronds straight through, mildly ruffled. The claim of 1.7" capability is absurd. Where's that big pile of brush, and branches I had accumulated? Haha, I made short work of that with my new wood chipper! This gobbler is hungry for more! It chipped the branches right up into the handy, dandy bag. I just dumped them into a new pile, that I can use as needed for mulch, or compost! Very well made, I will be using this for years to come. If it fits, it rips.
This thing is a champ. It is engineered to accept and annihilate any branches small enough to fit in it's opening. The only issue has been that all of the branches in my yard are hard maple, oak, hickory and osage orange... but it still chews them up into a nice mulch.
