Nice speakers at their price point
For the price point these are very reliable speakers. They give an accurate image of the music and aren't hyped. The bass extension is very good and the mid range where all the mud occurs is well defined so you can clean up you mixes easily. They will definitely need some break-in time as the sound changes dramatically after about 12 hours of use, but once burned in they provide a reasonable quality of consistent sound. One of the complaints with the original version of these speakers was noise (hissing and artifacts). I found this version to be very quiet and artifact free. I'm not sure of quality control so I can't say that every pair will consistently render the same results I received, but the pair I have are stone cold quiet when not in use and very clean when being driven, even at low levels of output. My only complaint is volume - they are not extremely loud even when maxed out. I expected them to have a little more output than they do and so I have to rate them as near-field not mid-field monitors. This means that the sweet spot is much tighter than expected so no side by side listening positions for engineer and producer. Overall, they are very good at their price point and I would recommend them to anyone needing a reasonably priced monitor for a home studio or small listening space.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
