Works fine but doesn’t fit tight in my drill

I like the battery and it works fine but it has a little play (wiggles) when I have it on my drill. Which I hope doesn’t get worse with wear and tear. It’s also a little bigger than the Makita brand ones but that doesn’t bother me. Overall it seems like good value for the price.

    Waste of Money

I purchased 2 batteries and I am using them in a light duty residential application. The batteries do not last for the rated 6.0aH under real working conditions. My old MAKITA branded 3.0aH battery pack outlasted these batteries in operational. One battery failed after the 4th recharge cycle and will not take a charge (no the batteries were not left uncharged for an extended period of time; the battery level indicator still indicated 2-bars of charge) and will not take a charge. The second battery is still serviceable but FAR BELOW the rated capacity.

  • Replacement generic Makita 18 volt battery

Fits perfectly in Makita drill. Was told by tool guy at Big Box - where Makita branded battery was $98.00- that only 3 companies manufacture lithium ion rechargeables, and getting a generic battery is the he’d go if he needed one. Shipped when promised, well packed, arrived on day promised.

  • 6 AH Makita Batteries

Excellent batteries and a great price. You will wait a long time since they use FedEx Ground which may be slower than walking it from coast to coast. It is nice to have a pair of these in my Makita leaf blower.

  • I don’t think these are genuine Makita b...

I don’t think these are genuine Makita batteries. I have not opened them to see if they are OEM but I have 3 year old 5AH batteries that outlast these by a fairly wide margin. (10-12 hole difference using a hole hawg with a 7/8” wood auger bit.

  • Makita makes it Simple.

Convenient for quickly putting a battery (very easy) into a Makita; Blower, Chainsaw, Vacuum, Fan, Weed eater, and others with descent amount of run time.

  • Better to have more than less!

Makita!!!.......... I own many Makita 18 & 36 volt tools, duplicity in my game, if I cant find one tool I have another to get the job done...years of remodeling and broken tape measures means you have redundancy at your fingertips... the same goes for Makita Batteries from 2ah too 6ah & I have an aggressive assortment for different tools... Needless to say, I am tool poor but a happy camper when I'm needing the assortment of tools I own. My help also has the use of my tools, 4 or 6 hands are better than one and they all need to be filled with the right tool. I never have to wait for recharged batteries eather. The are always on hand charging while I use my other batteries to fill their space!

  • Horrible battery life

These batteries do not work as advertised. They last a few minutes at load, the peak output seems about half compared to my other Makita batteries, which are of lesser amps (4 and 5 amp) and 3 - 10 years old. This is product is supposed to be 6amp the highest capacity in the 18v Makita battery line. Used around a half dozen charging/use cycles. Buyer beware if you are expecting a genuine Makita battery.

  • good

One of the batteries is definitely not the same as the other. Makita is designed in Japan but they subcontract to China for manufacturing. I'm quite sure I got a defective batch and that is why they are on sale. The defect is in one battery. Both in the casing and the 'power level' button. I had to use a chisel and stanley knife to clean up the casing on one battery so it could properly slide on my charger. No biggie. I'm used to modifying everything I get even just slightly. The battery works like intended, as a 6 amp battery. I have 5 amp batteries and 4 amp batteries. The 6 amp battery I use all day on my driver and only 1 bar of the power level is depleted so, they have all the amps specified. I don't mind that I had to work on one battery since I bought a set of 2 for $100. Totally worth it. Will buy again.

  • Seem to work as well the OEM batteries

I normally don't like non OEM parts but the price is right. I've been using these in the mix with several OEM batteries. These normally get used for work lights. I haven't done any kind of technical or "head to head" comparisons with the OEM 5Ah batteries but they seem to charge up and power the lights as expected.
