This is a great lens . If there is one issue that’s not as good as the Sony lenses it’s auto focus .
There can be a pulsing effect instead of a fast lock on and it can loose a subject then lock on in video sometimes. That’s the bad out of the way. And it’s so sharp that the Sony in camera sharpening combined and high contrast rendering, peoples skin can be harsh .
Now that’s all the bad out of the way .
For the good it starts with the color , there is the Sigma “tint” to images vs the Sony . Sony is rendering very very real or perfect and that’s good . Sigma lenses have a mild greenish old school tint that’s pleasing. This lens I’ve heard some say it’s rendering is so perfect it’s sterile. I don’t think so , to me I get a feeling from the rendering. Don’t know how to explain it but I like it .
Take this babbling the way you will , for me I love the lens . Thanks
