  • I remember

I purchased this DVD to see the movie, and to see the Martin experimental aircraft flying. As I watched it, I realized that I saw it years ago, as a kid, probably in the early 1960s. The movie has William Holden and Lloyd Nolan starring, good direction, and an early appearance for James Garner. Certain aspects of it are predictable and follow movie formula of the day; but I quite enjoyed seeing this movie again. And I’ll watch it yet again in a few months.

  • Toward the Unknown

If you enjoy jet aircraft from the 1950s as I do, then you’ll enjoy “Toward the Unknown.” The flight scenes are exemplary. Holden’s performance as a brainwashed Korean War vet trying to reclaim his life is also well done. The story line is well defined, but it’s the jet aircraft that steal the scenes. This movie has always been one of my favorites and will remain so.

  • Great movie for the military aviation buff.

A great movie for anyone interested in aviation and the early X project years. Has fantastic shots of almost all of the USAF inventory of planes during the 50's and early 60's.

  • Profoundly unremarkable

On the nose storytelling. Nothing expansive, or imaginative.
