NotesRenown singer / songwriter Nick Lowe returns with his first new studio release in 4 years: THE OLD MAGIC. The writer of "What's So Funny About Peace, Love and Understanding" and "Cruel to Be Kind" welcomes Ron Sexsmith, Paul Carrack, and Jimmie Vaughan to the studio, and creates another pop.
In the mid-90s Nick Lowe made a transition from pub Rock to a quieter style of music. He's always been a great Lyricist and his early music is awesome but boy oh boy have I been in love with all the records from The impossible bird until current. To me they represent utmost quality in every aspect. Older musicians that know the nuances of their instruments and the subtleties of playing them. Nick's lyrics are always a little tongue in cheek but always based in reality. I believe these albums are masterpieces. The impossible bird, dig my mood, the convincer, at my age and the one you're considering, the old magic. All quality.
