A nostlagic musical journey
If you like standards and wonder if there is anyone currently that can deliver them with expression and gusto, For My Folks is the CD for you. the multi-talented Jean Louisa Kelly is the artist for you. Ms. Kelly sings these songs as if they were just written and gives each one a special vocal gift wrapping that will thrill you and move you emotionally in a way that would delight the persons who wrote the songs. If you saw Mr. Holland's Opus in the 90's, you will remember Jean Louisa's performance as Rowena, the student who wants to go to New York and follow her dream of singing on Broadway. She sings "Someone To Watch Over Me" and it is a show stopping moment in the film. She sings this song on For My Folks and if you need one good reason to buy this CD, her rendition of this ballad will make you a fan of the song and her singing forever. There are not enough words to describe how wonderful this CD is. My personal favorite is For Me And My Gal. The best rendition of this standard, in my opinion, ever recorded. I love all the songs and I am sure if you buy this CD, you will love it too. Christmas is coming. Put this CD in your gift stockings this year.
