NotesExpanded two CD edition. 50th Anniversary Edition features newly remixed and remastered + bonus tracks + Royal Albert Hall performance. Stage Fright is the third studio album by Canadian American group The Band, released on August 17, 1970. Engineered by Todd Rundgren and Glyn Johns, it features two of the group's best-known songs, "The Shape I'm In" and "Stage Fright", both of which showcased inspired lead vocal performances (by Richard Manuel and Rick Danko, respectively) and became staples in the group's live shows.
I decided to go all out and purchase the 50th anniversary edition of Stage Fright. Disc 1 is the original disc and many rare demos, and versions of Stage Fight tracks. Disc 2 is a live concert from 1971 of many 'Band' songs, both from Stage Fright and other albums. The live disc has nearly 80 minutes of great classic rock. The strangest thing about this remaster is the order of the songs is different from the original vinyl version. I actually prefer the order of tracks on this CD. My favorites from Stage Fright are heard first. I forgot some really great music was on this album. Songs like 'The Rumour', and W.S. Walcot Medicine Show, bring back great memories. If you love the Band, and love Stage Fright, you'll love this anniversary edition. Highly recommended.
The Bands 50th Anniversary version of Stage Fright is exceptional. The demos and alternate takes on CD 1 are so cool to hear. CD 2 with the concert from Royal Albert Hall 1971 is flawless classic greatness. This is a must have for all music lovers. Do yourself a favor and add this gem to your collection. You will not be disappointed.
