Great Tires!
I liked them so much, these are my second set!! I used to travel to another state for work each week and would drive them very hard. I was not kind to them at all, high speeds and cornering until they sometimes started to slide through the corners(just sayin'). Needless to say i did not expect long life out of them due to my driving habits and i still got 27k out of the first set!! I no longer work that job so we'll see how long this set lasts. Being in the tire business for close to 40 years, i feel i know a thing or two about tire handling, road adhesion and the general "feel" of a tire at freeway speed and much higher at times. These are great tires, i felt so very confident with their handling in the summer, rainy fall and winter's snow and icy conditions. All of that to say, these are great tires!! Ignore the "Tire Shop Sales" and their recommendation of setting the air pressure at the "Vehicle Manufactuteres" recommendations and Keep them aired up to the max amount shown on the tire's sidewall, usually 44psi. Secondly, rotate them often. Consequently, you will get the maximum life out of the tires as i did. They are your tires, air them up and rotate them often, or not. First, don't be dissuaded from buying these tires because they don't have the letter P before the numbers. This is simply an American designation for a passenger tire. Without the letter P, the tire meets European specifications and has a higher weight load designation. These are very nice Tire at better than Walmart pricing, they were shipped quickly and arrived in perfect condition. Great budget tire.
I consider myself one of those unlucky drivers that tends to always get nails or screws in my tires. Because of this, i don't like to buy expensive tires. Only had them for a few weeks, grip is good, noise is the same or lower than the OEM tires. They were lightweight as well so good for fuel economy I be happy to get 50,000 miles out of this. Good tire, better price.
2nd set of 4 Westlake tires I've purchased. Loved them on my previous Jetta TDI before the buyback, and just as impressed on my new 15 Jetta TDI. @50 usd a tire I wasn't overly excited to purchase a set of 4. But my vw is being bought back in a few months and my kumho pa31s were becoming unsafe in the rain, let alone loud. Westlake;never heard of them. Look like a Michelin style tread. Ride smooth, quiet, handle rain well. Haven't seen snow yet. Sidewall are a little soft and can feel the difference between the stiff sidewalls of my old kumhos while cornering, now the car takes a little more effort steering at speed into corners. But for the price I really didn't expect them to be be as nice as they are. So I can live with the cornering issue, for a 1/3 the price of great handling tires. If you are on a budget and want a nice quiet tire that isn't going to be pushed for performance I recommend these Westlake tires. Btw I am an ase Master L1 automotive technician. I installed these tires myself and have installed thousands of tires over the last 25 years, I was actually impressed with the build quality of these tires while installing them.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Excellent tires
These tires are excellent. In my honest opinion these tires are as good as any known brand tires, and for the price, man, you just can't beat a value like this one. In the past I've owned Michelin, Goodyear, etc tires, but these West Lake tires are honestly the best out of all tire brands. The quality of the material used for these tires is good, excellent while driving in the rain as they sustain very well. I definitely will make another purchase in the near future. Good tires for the price
Always a bit wary of using lesser known brands of tires, but so far so good with these. Decent wet traction. Balanced up with very little weight. According to the sticky labels that came on the tires, the DOT testing rates the tread wear at 500. The traction, and temperature were both rated A.
