    Great Budget Surround Sound Receiver

At 95 watts a channel and an easy set up this receiver is a great bargain. Lots of cool features allow you to integrate any device or source you can think of. Hook it up to a good set of speakers and you've got a system that can sonically hold it own compared to systems costing thousands.

  • Best $500 I ever $pent!

In a nutshell: For the money I could not ask for more. Has all the latest features I could ask for (THX II, HDMI 2.0, Dolby Atmos etc.). Easy to set up & plenty of clean power. I love this beast & would highly recommend it to anyone.

  • WTF!!!!!

This is surely a case of OMG!!.. I am a fan of this product, Trust in the fact that I am receiving nothing for this review... The overall performance of this product won't be fully recognized until you hook up your system.. I have had Infinity Reference Studio Monitor speakers for 30yrs Replaced with Woofer upgrades of double voice coil and 2000watt 4ohm capability. I wired the system to accept the 4 ohm load which gives a system total output of over 300watt per channel (the way I understand it) and I am yet to hook up the power amp.. I have it wired for home theater as well as power performance and the sound is reverberating at low volumes. Earth shattering lows when adjusted..crystal clear highs and mids as well. I have two power subs that are yet to be integrated, because they are not needed at this point because of the power of this system... Two thumbs up is all I can offer because of a lack of arms, If I was an octopus then 8 would be the sum total of thumbs up.

  • Onkyo TX-NR838 reciever

I am not sure why some people were saying this lacked power. It will blow you're socks off. They should go in and turn the speaker sounds up to 12 if they want. And it will leave you turning the main volume down quite a bit. This is the best receiver I have ever had. that the subwoofer will actually shake the walls in you're house. I have a earthquake 12 inch sub. But I would definitely recommend this to every one. Great piece of equipment.
