These are tiny - 1/3 the size of a BCE
I admit it. I fell for the price and the look. The pictures are so deceiving. They look gorgeous, it true, if you’re a hobbit (see what I did just there?) I missed the whole POCKET version as I looked all this over. They mean a girl could fit it in her jeans pocket kids. The pages are very thin like a Bible on steroids. I just wish they would do this in a collectible size. It looks ridiculous on my bookshelf next to all the REAL books. But, for some reason, the real books cost upwards of $100 each most of the time. I would love to see them make these in a real size for $100. I would buy them in a heartbeat! Just don’t make the mistake I did. These are very very little. Fun Size!
These are some of the favorite books ever. But very recently my older sister has been collecting books for her book shelf. She is obsessed with reading. Her birthday was coming up so I was trying to decide what to get her so I went over to her book shelf and realized that her collection was missing some of the greatest books ever written in history. So I thought to myself "why no get her the hobbit and LOTR book set" I have many variations of the books with different covers and such but I do not have these. I wanted to get her some editions of the books that I did not own and these seemed to do the trick. They look very nice on her book shelf. The price was a bit iffy but its worth it. The size of a children’s book.
The photo makes it look like standard size books. However,they are very small!!! Because of their size the font size is also very small making it very difficult to read. The exterior covers are very nice and they look good. If you actually want to read and enjoy them, then go with a different set. Looks elegant; on the small size

The book set is Awesome. The problem is the text is so tiny, it is very hard to read. it must be a 6 point font. VERY TINY. My ten year old daughter is reading it anyway, but I would not be able to do it myself. The cover material is soft and very classy. Hobbit and Lord of the Rings Paperback is always great, I've read it all through the years since childhood, I was looking for a nice but affordable set just to have for those times when I want a good read, I decided to look around and found this set, it was affordable, and figured it'd be a neat set just to goof off with BUT I was actually very pleasantly surprised when the books arrived by how nice a set it really was, it's so nice I put it with my "nice" books that I have in my living room on display.
