This insect trap is engineered for 3-way protection against mosquitoes and other flying insects. First, a UV fluorescent bulb generates a warm light, attracting insects. Then, an exclusive Ti02 titanium dioxide-coated surface produces CO2 that's irresistible to mosquitoes.

    Real nice unit

The overall build is of excellent quality. Performance is good to. Think of any bug with a thin body, skinny legs, and thin see through wings or large light wings... those are easily sucked it. Mosquitos, moths, gnats, etc. Beetles are the larger ones than get caught often, but they are really attracted to the heat of the lamp. The 2 most irritating bugs are the ones most likely NOT to be caught. Flies and mosquitos. Mosquitos are easily sucked in but they are hardly attracted to the unit. I dont get too many of the large mosquitos but the little ones you can barely see. Flies arent too attracted either and they are too big and fly too strong to easily get sucked. They have a good chance to fly through it. There is a little bowl built in the center you can place bait in. But i just use bologna or pieces of hot dog to draw the flies in. I get swams of flies around some spots my dog sticks up and the flies just swarms around the unit. I looked into attractants but they are expensive for flies and mosquitos for how long they last. This thing works but it doesnt eliminate the problem. My bug bites and irritation with these bugs still remains the same with the unit out there for the past month.

  • Top critical review

Excellent just don't empty if it hangs - take it down.

This works far better than I expected. I had read some reviews that said it is difficult to empty if you follow the instructions and have it hanging 5-6 feet off the ground so people don't walk into it. Well difficult is a nice way to describe trying to take it apart to empty while standing on a ladder - all most impossible would have been my choice. Then all of a sudden it came apart and the contents went flying everywhere. While I am sure there must be reviews that might explain how to fix this engineering foul-up I would expect the manufacturer to redesign it so it would be easy for those of us who have it hanging. Now I'll wait to empty it until it at capacity and take it down.

  • Mosquito and Moth Magnetic

I bought 3 of these last year and they are great! I bought my fourth this year, so I now have 360 degrees coverage around the house. What have I learned... Do they cover an entire acre? My experience leads me to say, No. I have 3.5 acres and I now have them surrounding my house. The 4 traps don’t make my entire property mosquito free. Around the house is pretty much mosquito free. Do they work for mosquitoes? Yes, very well!!! However, I’ve learned that placement is king. The traps closest to the wood line have caught 5 to 10 times more mosquitoes in my case. You will need to experiment with placement. I’ve also removed competing light sources. Moths and Dust... Last year there were more moths than mosquitoes, in my area. It’s all weather dependent. What is that dust in the trap? Those are mosquitoes that have dehydrated and the moths have beat them into dust. This year, with all the rain, I have mosquitoes with very few moths. Maybe the moths will come later in the year. It is scary how many mosquitoes these 4 traps have caught within 9 days. I just filled a 13 gallon kitchen trash bag 25 percent full, most of the haul was mosquitoes! Clean Regularly... Warning! If you don’t want to be the laughing stock of dinner parties, make sure you clean the traps regularly and when they are DRY. I have a very strong constitution when it comes to bad smells. I neglected the traps letting the over fill in the wet fall season. My wife found it entertaining when my gagging could be heard a half a mile away because of the stench. Do yourself a favor and save a little face, clean them regularly and when they are dry. Build Quality... Well, I only have 4 to review. All have performed very well. However, when I changed the bulbs this spring, one of the has an issue with releasing the bulb. The plastic knobs are ceased. This was from a trap that I bought new elsewhere, not the one I bought from this vendor. Would I Recommend this Product... Most certainly!!! I’ve recommended to all my friends, neighbors and family. It really worked exceptionally well for me. I hope this review has helped. I normally don’t write reviews. I’m not saying you’re results will be the same, they may vary. However, I am extremely pleased.

  • This is genocide on mosquitoes !

We've only had it for a few weeks but so far this thing is phenomenal. We placed it halfway between two different patios and right beside our garden. The first night it had to have trapped over 1000 bugs. You stand near it after dark and watch the steady stream of mosquitoes, millers, etc. being drawn into the trap. Sometimes they will fly under the light like fighter planes and make it through without being sucked in but it doesn't matter because they turn right around and fly back through again and get trapped. I'd give it 5 stars but we haven't had it for the 6 weeks they say it takes to break the mosquitoes life cycle. Still, we would have to say it's well worth the money.

  • Amazing product. Better than I'd hoped!

We had mosquitoes, LOTS of mosquitoes. Tried so many things and nothing seemed to really make a difference. I saw this device at bed bath and beyond and thought 'give it a try'. Found it on ebay refurbed at more than half the price (I think). My neighbor said "I'm not sure why, but the mosquitoes have gone down a LOT in the past week". That was at day 9 of me using the dynatrap. My wife goes into the garden much more often and I hear much less slapping of the blood suckers. There are still a few around, but going from ten mosquitoes flying around my ankles to one on occasion. It is worth EVERY PENNY.

  • Not good for midges “Noseeums”

The unit is very well made and appears that it should last for a long time with replacement bulbs easily obtained and replaced. The unit does not work with midges, noseeums, as the metal screen mesh in the bottom catcher is to large and they crawl right through it, at least here in Virginia. For this reason I deducted one star on the rating. I do not know if the claim for CO2 production from the UV on the TIO2 coating is valid or not I did add a 20 x 20 mesh noseeum screen inside the existing screen which now catches them. The manufacturer should consider a smaller mesh screen to catch noseeums and other small midges.

  • Great product

Great product. I have it set up in the back yard and it’s working as advertised. Only gave this 4 stars because you can’t choose your color and each order/shipment is random in color. Otherwise, absolutely great value.

  • Bugs seem to love it

It quite and full of bugs I’ve seen birds setting on top of it catching bugs as they fly up. We use our patio and are no longer bothered by mosquitoes still have some flys but it’s not a perfect world

  • Dynatrap DT2000

I originally purchase this to get rid of mosquito because i was constantly getting bitten by them (since i live in long island). So far on day 1, it collected quite a few moths (im guessing because of the light) and less on the mosquito. I havent had it long enough to see whether it truely solve the mosquito problem but it seems like its a good moth catcher not mosquito judging by the trap (bugs that are mainly attracted to light). I believe mosquitoes are attracted to scent which makes it a epic fail in this department.

  • Good mosquito control trap.

Even though the unit was "refurbished" you couldn't tell it from new. I have run it for the past three weeks and it does a good job of collecting "light weight" flying insects. I haven't seen it capture any kind of wasp (and no bees which is good) but it seems to be getting the mosquitoes and moths. A little messy to clean but I knew that before I decided to purchase.
