I love Corrie Ten Boom. She is a great testimony to the Christian faith. Have read this book at least twenty times as I bought my first book several years ago and was completely worn out. I purchased this book for my 8th grader to fulfill required summer reading. I had also read the book as a young person. Inspiring
I've read this book at least 20 times and I appreciate something new each time. While there are enough details about the holocaust and the camps for the reader to understand the situation, the main story is one of sacrifice, humility, and triumph. The Hiding Place, true story of faith in God during insurmountable tragedy.
First of all, obviously the content! Corrie and her family were heros of Christian women for their love and compassion for the Jews, and for their bravery and faith in God in the face of evil and tragic treatment. Secondly, the book came exactly as described, when it was supposed to. This book really drew me in and held me. What makes it so interesting is that it was written by an eyewitness survivor and not a formally trained scholar.
