I prefer the stainless steel egg poaching cups over the silicone.
I ordered these silicone egg poaching cups as well as a pair of stainless steel egg poaching cups. I love the stainless steel so much more. Trying to place the egg filled cups into a pan of boiling water is so much easier with the metal cups! The silicone cups collapse so easily. The stainless steel cups were so much easier to use. Also, the eggs slid right out of the stainless steel cups but stuck to the silicone cups a little.

Love these poachers.
Glad I chose the poacher with the ring on the bottom to stabilize as it cooks. These are wonderful as the eggs come out with running a spoon around the edge and the silicone is easy to clean.

silicone cups
No more spending 15 minutes cleaning the pan you just poached eggs in. It took a couple of times using the silicone cups to get the hang of using them. Found out what pan was the best ( 9 inch skillet with an inch or so of water) and the length of time to cook eggs that were right for me (6 minutes). I can and would recommend these for someone poaching eggs.

Soft yolks don't happen.
If you want soft yolks this is not the product for you. In a pan of hot water or in the microwave, the egg whites will not cook unless the yolk is hard.
