The quality of the manufacturing of the monitor adapter is great. It took quite a bit of time to get the monitor of the original stand. I check the specs of the iMac monitor and monitor arm, all with in the specs. However the monitor extending arm was not strong enough to hold the heavy iMac Monitor. This is not the Apple VESA mount, this is an aftermarket part and the finish of the aluminum does not match Apple's. The finish is much coarser and looks cheap. Not for the early Cinema displays!
