    Excellent quality as expected from Akrapovic

    First of all, thank you to riders-resource, also known as SportbikeTrackGear for extremely quick shipping and competitive pricing. The exhaust installs very easily on the FZ-09 / MT-09 being a naked bike. You just take off 6 header nuts and 2 pivot nuts near the rear wheel and the stock system is off. The new header goes on first, then the midpipe, and lastly the muffler. The instructions from Akrapovic is filled with detailed pictures and explain everything well, even noting the torque spec for most if not all the bolts/nuts. Akrapovic also provides you with a bracket, 4 exhaust springs, and to my surprise, some copper anti-seize for your bolts and O2 sensor! The whole ordeal, taking the stock exhaust off and putting the new one on took approximately 45 minutes and all with basic hand tools. You'll need a 12mm, 14mm, 19mm, and 22mm (for O2 sensor) socket and you're good to go; also, perhaps a torque wrench if you don't trust yourself or are unsure. The sound from the new system, simply put, is simply amazing and cannot be compared to stock. I'll admit I'm a big Akrapovic fanboy, however, I do have other systems on my other bikes as well, namely Yoshimura who make great systems too. Both are great and I can heartily recommend it to anyone looking for a more aggressive sounding bike (and more power which may require a tune to fully see the benefits). The bike runs great without a tune which seems to be the case with Akrapovic. They almost always state that a fuel controller/flash/tune is not necessary, however if you want the optimal power and performance for your bike, a tune should be in line. All in all, the exhaust is well worth the money, especially after the recent eBay promotion ;)

    awesome sound

    love it. here's a link to what it sounds like at full throttle high speed flyby with the baffle installed. without the baffle it sounds deeper and louder, but i prefer the sound with it installed. easy install and looks great. bought it for a 2020 xsr900. it pops on deceleration and shoots a nice big flame everytime, visible at night. for me the sound is just right. would definitely buy again. youtu.be/SwwdfmnQWrM

    Very satisfied with the new Akrapovic system

    Just finished the installation of the Akrapovic exhaust. Left the baffle in and it's nice and quite at idle and lower revs. Or, dial up the revs and it comes alive and might just wake the dead! Install was fairly straight forward and it came with excellent and accurate instructions. No missing pieces and no flaws in workmanship and cosmetics. Was a little disappointed in the finish of the header pipes as they were not nearly as nice as the Yoshimura system that it replaces. But, it didn't cost as much either! All and all, I'm very happy with the Akrapovic full system.

    Must have upgrade

    Love the sound and felt an immediate difference in performance. I’ve kept the baffle in so far just for the neighbors but I’ll definitely try it out without it too. Easy to install. Much lighter than stock exhaust. Hearing the exhaust in person is much better than the YouTube clips. One thing I heard from a friend that I didn’t think about during install was to wipe down the pipes with alcohol to remove any fingerprints that can burn into the pipes and show when it blues. Luckily I wore gloves so that didn’t happen to me.
