The AKG C636 has clarity, detail, precision, cleanliness, and versatility not experienced with the others. It is a spectacular all-around stage vocal mic that approaches studio condenser qualities with voices. Super-cardioid polar pattern consistent across all frequencies make this mic very manageable for live stage use especially where feedback and nearby sound bleed controls are important. Amazing performance on large variety of voices. A real go-to mic for studio-like results on a live stage.

AKG C636 Excellent sound and 'plosive filter
I can 'pop' almost any mic or screen combination. The C636 does what is says. It sounds as good as its predecessors including the C535 and C451 B but without the large screens I need in front of those mics. It is heavier by design to give a more balanced feel when hand-held.
