I bought them to use for my double throwing. Did have to put a sharper edge on them. I used a Accu knife sharpener. Couple of passes on both axes and they would stick deep full blade. Made specifically for throwing - good for armatures and competitors.
This is a very high quality, throwing axe with a nearly indestructible oak handle. I've used several 'throwing hawks' with plastic handles and they all soon broke.
