  • Mostly really good. A few tweaks could make it great!

Set up was really easy. Verifying the modes was confusing at first but easy enough after I actually read the instructions. It would be nice if there was a way to shut itself off when it detects blank tape / snow. It has timers to shut off after 60, 90 minutes, etc. but we don't always know how long it is. It would also help to have a trim feature to take off that very 20 minutes of black that I now have. When i do use that timer, it would be helpful to have some sort of a reminder, beep light, to let me know it stopped. If my tape is still going and it shut off, because of the timer it would help to know that, when and where. I would also like to see quality settings. I think there were two but that was more for size and only two. For the money and quality I am happy. It seems like a few basic things could make this a lot better rather quickly.

  • Does what it says

It would be nice if there were more settings / adjustments for picture quality, but it's still a good value. I was able to set it up with an old hi8 camera and start converting my tapes to digital files. I was lucky enough to have an empty SD card to use (8GB) so I've been using that to transfer files to a more permanent hard drive. Overall the workflow is pretty clean but it is mostly manual, I have to sync the start of the tape and the converter old school style and then watch for the end of each clip. I suppose if I didn't care I could just let it run but I was concerned about file size. There is some slight evidence of frame drops / choppy interpolation but I'll take it. The final product looks light years better than videos from my early Android phones. Now I just need more time to transfer all my tapes...

  • It's working for me.

It is easy to use once you can figure out how to maneuver through the different screens. There are areas where they want you to perform a process, but assume you know what certain images stand for. I figured it out after trial and error, but a page somewhere needs the images displayed and their purpose. This issue is why I didn't give the unit a five star rating.

  • Simple, easy to use.

No installation, just pass through video end audio collected on an S.D. card or usb memory stick which you can then copy onto a dvd for safekeeping. If you are an Apple person make sure you format your usb memory stick as fat32 or your Mac won’t be able to read it.

  • simple, easy to use.

Used to transfer old VHS to digital. Very easy to use after reading instructions. Pretty much plug and play. I am not a professional, so pro quality not required for me. I was looking for simplicity and that's what I got.

  • Awesome product for 8 mm conversion to MP4, with included 32 GB SanDisk USB memory

Great product for Nikon 8mm video tape conversion, using Sony Hi8 and Sony Hi8 Digital for conversion process. Included a SanDisk 32 GB USB stick for getting started, and a cable with 3 plugs (white, yellow, red) on each end.for the older Hi8. My Hi8 Digital uses a cable with a single plug one end, which I purchased online (since it was lost!). Very easy to set up and configure for desired settings, which were sufficient for the first 10 tapes converted. I use Cyberlink Power Director Ultimate 2021 for editing the tapes to enhance color and sharpness, and to contain to be retained, and to reduce the size of the MP4. Image captures show before and after using Photoshop Elements 2019 Auto Smart Fix. Some picture noise from this 32 year old tape. Version 2.0 meets needs for lower price. Used but certified? No problem. Highly recommend as it looks like new.

  • Definitely my moneys worth

Wasted my money on 4 different products that would not work this worked. The only thing, I had to convert the result on a DVD to make it play, Apparently the mp4 file on DVD needed to be converted to NTSC

  • Quality Digital Converter

The digital converter is an exceptional device. the only converter that converts VHS tapes, digital tapes, super 8, and digital 8 tapes with no computer needed. It also gives you great results. It was easy to setup and operate for better results I would recommend class 10 SD cards they seem to work flawlessly. You can also convert VHS movies and TV shows from cable boxes. The signal from the HDMI output to the TV is crystal clear. Remember the converter only converts the tapes and videos it does not improve the quality greatly. The reason I say this is because if your tapes are in bad condition then it will convert bad tapes if the tapes are in good quality then you will get great videos.

  • Great Product. Easy and fun to see old videos from the 80's

Product works great! If you are using this product to connect to a Macbook, you should use the USB connector and not the SD card option. I was a little disappointed when I used the SD card option, but I gave the USB option a try. I was thrilled that it worked. I am happy to say that I've been transferring my old Video8 to digital.
