Good product to have
I have not used this product to it's fullest ability. Purchased this product because of it's value and will need this to diagnose issues with my vehicles when the time comes. It does seem seem like a good product to have, especially with the newer vehicle are basically controled by thier on board computer system. Don't buy it unless you are absolutely sure it will work on your make and model. It didn't for me.
They may put up a list of covered Manufacturers, but it doesn't cover ever model. Even though my car has this equipment. This device will not work on my model for many of these functions. The reason I bought this device was to diagnose problems with my 05 Jaguar X-type. The device works for just about ever other model but the X-type. This is incredibly disappointing. We have had such poor weather over the last three weeks here in Minnesota that I haven't been able to properly test this device. When I received the unit, I did a full file update. It seems to work fine on my 07 Chevy truck. But not on my X-type. For the Jaguar, it's not much more than a fancy code reader. Which is something I already have. I bought this to reset my airbag ECU codes rather then take it to a dealer. Waste of time and money. I don't recommend this device until they offer a comprehensive list of makes and models covered before you dish our this kind of money for a DIY tool. I have six Jags sitting in my driveway that I wanted to use this on. It only seems to work well on the one Chevy truck I have. To say this is disappointing is the most civil way for me to express my feelings. I'm retired and on a fixed income. I sold something that was pretty special to me so I could buy this tool.
