For armrest I have had the swing style on my last motorcycle and now with the Can Am Spyder RTL my wife wanted arm rest. I'm kind've cheap and was going to get the Show Chrome ones that bolt onto the trunk. After thinking about it, I didn't like the idea of the armrest bolting onto the trunk itself and the warning not to use them to get onto the bike. I mean you don't want my wife to put any pressure on them getting onto the trike, but you want her to use them as armrest. The whole idea behind them is for her to feel safer with them while going around a curve. My last bike I had bought the Show Chrome swing style armrest, but they bolted onto the mount that holds the trunk. I also did not like these because they were always swinging out when I rode alone. You could not keep the tension on them to hold them in place. So (FOR MY WIFE) I got the OEM ones. I am really glad I did. Yes, they were a couple hundred dollars more, but talk about a strong and secure armrest. There is no worries about how secure they are. They bolt directly to the frame and look great. These are very heavy duty arm rest.
