SynopsisStephen King's #1 bestselling time-travel novel--now a limited series on Hulu starring James Franco In Stephen King's "most ambitious and accomplished" (NPR) and "extraordinary" ( USA TODAY ) #1 New York Times bestselling novel, time travel has never been so believable. Or so terrifying. Dallas, 11/22/63: Three shots ring out. President John F. Kennedy is dead. Life can turn on a dime--or stumble into the extraordinary, as it does for Jake Epping, a high school English teacher in a Maine town. While grading essays by his GED students, Jake reads a gruesome, enthralling piece penned by janitor Harry Dunning: fifty years ago, Harry somehow survived his father's sledgehammer slaughter of his entire family. Jake is blown away...but an even more bizarre secret comes to light when Jake's friend Al, owner of the local diner, enlists Jake to take over the mission that has become his obsession--to prevent the Kennedy assassination. How? By stepping through a portal in the diner's storeroom, and into the era of Ike and Elvis, of big American cars, sock hops, and cigarette smoke...Finding himself in warmhearted Jodie, Texas, Jake begins a new life. But all turns in the road lead to a troubled loner named Lee Harvey Oswald. The course of history is about to be rewritten...and become heart-stoppingly suspenseful., Acclaimed author Stephen King's #1 bestselling time-travel novel-soon to be a limited series on Hulu! • King's best

I loved this book ,I think it is one of Stephen King's best ever and I have read them all The Stand will always be my favorite but this one is close in my opinion to it

  • This is redculously hard to follow

After having actually been there, 11/22/63, I fairly well know the events. 2 things about this book: it's ridiculously difficult to follow. And you are stupid as you look if you truly believe that Oswald was the sole gun man. I imagine it made a cute tv special. Wonder if it got Mary Jo Kopechne's approval?

  • What If...

King has not only written a thrilling time-travel book, but has written a historical "What if" story line. "What if" someone could go back in time and save JFK from his unfortunate end? Thanks to a (for lack of a better term) time portal, located in the backroom of a local diner, unassuming English teacher Jake Epping is about to find out. There's something for everyone: a love story, a history lesson, discussion of time paradoxes, and even some well-described gory scenes thrown in as well. A fun and gripping read!
