  • Easy DYI Touchpad repair

This was not a knock off but the original OEM from GE. Peeled up the old touchpad strip, then took off the back of the dishwasher door (GE Monogram Fully integrated dishwasher Model ZBD6880N20SS in my case) and slipped the touchpad strip back thru the slot in the top of the door. Unplugged the touchpad wires from the control unit (note: there is a little tab you have to press down on to get it to unlock so it unplugs). Put the new strip on after cleaning up the old mastic and the two clear plastic pieces at each end of the door. Plugged it in and re-attached the back of the door. Definitely a easy DIY project.

  • I got a defective part and it would be to expensive to pay a technician uninstall and then install a replacement

Poor quality control. The part Installed was tested and then installed. It was initially working and checked by a technician. Once installed, the cycle options keys lights would not light up and were defective. If i return the defective and get a new one the cost of getting it removed and install the new one would be way more costly than being forced to use the defective part guessing each time which cycle the machine is set at.
