Get a spare.
The 8.6 is exactly the right size for original Baygen Freeplay battery less radios. They are a bugger to get everything lined up, but if the original in mine lasted 25 years, these should do as well.

Works great on 1980s VCR!
The parts worked and now the VCR will properly wind tapes and will not randomly lock up and/or automatically eject and reload the cassette several times. The 1986 Sharp VC-6846U now works perfectly
