I had high hopes for this pedal, but am totally disappointed. What I wanted to do was simulate a bass guitar with a standard guitar. It kind of works, but I am not at all pleased with the sound. First thing I noticed was that it drastically reduces power output. I had to turn every amp I tried it on to "10", just to get a reasonable output in a practice setting. There would not have been enough output for performing. Second, the sound was quite distorted in the lower ranges. I would not try to use it thru a regular amp. Your speakers will object. I tried it through both regular amps and a bass amp. The bass amp was better. Third, the pedal seemed to add some harmonics, which didn't always sound in tune with the key I was playing in. To be fair, there was a narrow range of notes that sounded really cool with this effect added, but for the most part, what this pedal brings to the party just isn't worth it. Oh yes, I tried it with several batteries, (all of which tested good), and with an AC/DC plugin 9V power supply. Changing batteries seemed to make no difference in the sound, and the pedal wouldn't work at all with the 9V wall power. I got this pedal as an experiment, realizing that it might not be what I was looking for, so I was prepared to absorb the financial hit if it didn't suit me, however, I found this pedal to be not only unsatisfactory, but totally unusable. I would be interested to know other people's experience with this item. For what it is worth, the vendor, Pitbull Audio, did a good job. I will certainly use them again.
